The 6 wheel heavyweight passenger car truck…the beast of rail car trucks! Commonly found under various Pullman cars, these trucks were designed to carry a heavy load and provide a comfortable ride.
RailPup Design has developed these trucks to provide the same level of comfort and support to the 1.5 inch scale hobby. Solid steel construction ensures strength to support the heaviest of loads. The swing link suspension and coil springs assure a smooth ride and stable tracking on the rails. Fully functional brakes that are operated by either straight air or automatic air are available. These trucks were designed using drawings from the Norfolk & Western Historical Society and reflect a common design of the heavyweight passenger car era. Equally at home under a sleeper car, or a more modern, large dome car, these trucks will add a touch of realism to your passenger cars.
This style of trucks has also been used with some drop center flat cars for carrying heavy loads.
